What's New

APEHP made the following plan changes effective July 1, 2011:

  • Coverage is available for dependent children up to age 26, regardless of the child's student or marital status.
  • Individuals under the age of 19 are not subject to the pre-existing condition clause.
  • Coverage has increased to allow one physical exam and gynecology exam/pap smear lab test each plan year, payable at 100 percent.
  • Prostate screenings has been added as a wellness benefit, payable at 100 percent.
  • Basic life insurance coverage increased to $2,000 for all dependents.
  • The health savings account vendor changed to Health Equity.
  • The penalty for using HSA funds for non-medical or non-medically related expenses increased from 10% to 20%.
  • Over-the-counter medications must be prescribed by a physician in order to be eligible for reimbursement through an FSA or HSA plan.
